Clayton grew up in Southern Idaho and started climbing as a teenager at Dierkes Lake and City of Rocks. He attended college at Utah State University, where he worked as a trip leader for four years doing rock climbing, backcountry skiing, and whitewater rafting trips. When he’s not in the mountains playing on rocks or the snow, he can often be found at the local climbing gym setting routes and teaching clinics.
