Ski Mountaineering

Discover the challenge of The Bear River Range and hone your skills on introductory ski mountaineering objectives.

Expect to brush up on basic knot work, rope work, crevasse rescue, mountain efficiency techniques and avalanche safety. We want everyone who comes out into the mountains with us to leave a more proficient and safe mountain athlete.

Typically, ski mountaineering is best suited for the spring when the snow pack is firmer and more predictable. To get the most out of this experience we recommend doing multiple days. Dates and locations are always subject to change based on snow, weather, and avalanche conditions.

Prerequisites:

  • Advanced skiing or snowboarding ability

  • Good physical fitness
